Terms of Use

The agreement between you and VITALi when you use the app.

Last updated 16 September 2026

Before the app is released. These terms apply from the app's release and are pending legal review.

By downloading, installing or using VITALi ("the app"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. What VITALi is — and what it is not

VITALi is a personal health and fitness tracking tool. It records what you choose to log — food, water, workouts, steps, sleep, body measurements and similar — and shows you patterns in your own data.

VITALi is not a medical device, and nothing in it is medical advice.

Every number the app derives — the daily score, readiness, biological age, fitness age, strain, Nutri-Score, NOVA group, cycle predictions and any correlation it surfaces — is an estimate calculated from data you entered or that your watch reported. These are informational and motivational. They are not diagnoses, they are not clinical measurements, and they must not be used to make medical decisions.

Do not use VITALi to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Consult a qualified healthcare professional before changing your diet, exercise, sleep or supplement routine — particularly if you are pregnant, under 18, managing a medical condition, or taking medication. If you think you are having a medical emergency, contact your local emergency service.

2. Nutrition data, allergens and food safety

Food nutrition comes from the USDA FoodData Central public dataset, bundled with the app, plus any corrections or custom foods you create yourself.

Two limits you must understand before relying on them:

  • Allergen information is an aid, not a clearance. The app detects allergens by reading the ingredient text on a database record. An allergen can be absent from that result because of an unusual spelling, a "may contain" line the source never captured, a recipe change since the data was published, or a missing ingredient list entirely. Always check the actual packaging. If you have a food allergy, do not rely on this app to keep you safe.
  • Nutri-Score shown in VITALi is estimated, not official. It is computed from the nutrient panel, and one input the official formula uses — the percentage of fruit, vegetables, pulses and nuts — is not present in the source data and is treated as zero. A grade shown here is never better than the official one, but it can be worse. It is not the manufacturer's declared grade.

Nutrition values in the database may be inaccurate, out of date, or missing.

3. Your account and your data

An account is optional. The app works fully offline without one.

VITALi is for people aged 16 and over, everywhere, with or without an account. If you create an account, you are responsible for your credentials and for activity under your account, and you must provide accurate registration information.

You can enable two-factor authentication (an authenticator app) in Account. Note that there are no recovery codes: if you lose both your authenticator and the setup key, you may be unable to sign in, and we may be unable to restore access. Save the key somewhere safe when you turn it on.

A session that goes 30 days without use is signed out automatically. This does not delete anything — your data is on your device and stays there.

How your data is handled is described in our privacy policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: your health data stays on your device unless you turn on cloud sync or use the AI Coach, and it is never sold.

You may export your data at any time, on every plan (Settings → Your data), and delete your account from Profile → Account & Security → Delete account.

4. Health app connections

Connecting Apple Health or Android Health Connect is optional and read-only. VITALi never writes to your health app. You can revoke access at any time from your platform's own settings, and doing so does not delete data already imported into VITALi.

4a. The AI Coach

The AI Coach is a chat that answers questions about your own logged data. Its answers are generated by an AI model and can be wrong. It gives general wellness information, not medical advice, and it is designed to refuse to diagnose, to recommend doses, or to help with unsafe eating, and to point you to a doctor or emergency services when that is what you need. Do not rely on it instead of a healthcare professional.

  • The Coach is used only if you open it and agree to what it sends (see the privacy policy). You can withdraw at any time.
  • Messages are limited by your plan: a monthly allowance, a daily limit and a rate limit. When a limit is reached, the Coach answers from your data on the device instead, and says when the allowance returns. Unused allowance does not carry over. Message packs you buy do not expire.
  • Anything the Coach logs for you (a meal, a workout) is shown for you to check, and you remain responsible for what is recorded.

This section applies from the version of the app that includes the Coach.

5. Subscriptions and payment

VITALi has a free plan and three paid plans — VITALi Plus, VITALi Pro and VITALi Max — each monthly or yearly. What each includes is shown on the plans screen in the app before you buy. The Free plan shows VITALi's own upgrade cards; it contains no third-party advertising.

  • Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, not by us. Their terms govern the transaction.
  • A subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Manage or cancel a subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. We cannot cancel it for you.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies. We do not process refunds directly.
  • Prices may change; we will give notice before a change affects a renewal.
  • If a paid tier lapses, premium features stop working and your logged data is not deleted — it remains available and exportable.

6. Acceptable use

Do not: reverse-engineer, decompile or tamper with the app or its data files; attempt to bypass tier limits or forge subscription status; access another user's data; use the app to build a competing product; or use it in any way that breaks the law.

We may suspend or terminate an account that does these things.

7. Intellectual property

The app, its design, code and content are owned by the copyright holder. You get a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for your own non-commercial purposes. You keep ownership of the data you log.

8. Availability and changes

The app is provided "as is". We do not promise uninterrupted availability, and cloud sync depends on third-party infrastructure that can fail.

We may modify or discontinue features. If we make a material change to these terms, we will notify you in the app or by email, and continued use after that means you accept the new terms.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profit or health outcomes arising from your use of the app. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions; where that is the case, they apply to the fullest extent permitted, and nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of France, and disputes fall to the courts of that jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your own country of residence.
